Tonio, a young dancer, is at the height of his career in a ballet troupe that has been devastated by AIDS. He distances himself from the other dancers with his self-serving attitude and sharp wit. Even when he finds that he, too, is suffering from an AIDS related illness, he refuses to stop rehearsing for the upcoming show. He seeks comfort in a middle-aged therapist who he falls in love with despite their differences.
